The Ionian Catamaran Holiday is a one-week, skippered sailing adventure organised for the Powerboat Club community. We plan to charter two comfortable catamarans and explore the islands, bays, villages and tavernas of the Greek Ionian during September 2027.
Guests do not need to be experienced sailors. Each yacht will have a suitably qualified skipper, and everyone can become as involved in sailing and life aboard as they wish.
Exact dates, catamaran models, route, cabin price and travel arrangements will be released after the charter programme is confirmed. Registering interest does not commit you to booking or paying a deposit.

The joy of an Ionian sailing holiday is the freedom to move gently between islands, sheltered bays and welcoming waterfront villages.
One morning might begin with a swim from the stern before breakfast. The afternoon may be spent sailing towards a new island, finding a quiet anchorage or arriving in a village for dinner beside the water.

What might the route include?
The final itinerary will depend on the weather, charter base and berthing arrangements. The following destinations illustrate the kind of journey we are planning rather than a fixed route.
Lefkas and the first island passage
Meet the crews, provision the yachts, complete the safety briefing and leave the charter base for the first evening afloat.
Meganisi
Sheltered bays, quiet coves, small settlements and relaxed waterfront dining make Meganisi a natural Ionian destination.
Sivota and southern Lefkas
A horseshoe-shaped harbour setting with a choice of tavernas and a welcoming atmosphere for an evening ashore.
Fiskardo and Kefalonia
A colourful harbour village surrounded by beautiful coast and inviting places to stop for a swim.
Ithaca and Kioni
Traditional waterfront buildings, forested hillsides and a choice of tavernas beside the harbour.
Atokos, Kalamos or Kastos
Smaller islands and anchorages may give us some of the quietest swimming stops and most memorable moments of the week.
The itinerary is deliberately flexible
Good sailing holidays are shaped by the actual conditions. The skippers may change the route, destination or overnight plan to suit weather, berth availability and the comfort of those aboard.
What is life aboard like?
Catamarans provide generous shared living space, sheltered seating, outdoor dining and multiple areas in which to relax.
Everyone contributes to the rhythm of the week. That may mean helping with lines and fenders, making breakfast, pouring drinks, choosing the evening taverna or simply making sure the music is good.

The catamarans
We intend to charter two modern sailing catamarans with comfortable double cabins, generous shared deck space and a tender for reaching the shore when anchored away from a quay.
The exact yachts will be selected once the 2027 charter options, condition, layout and pricing can be compared properly.

Your skippers

Participation is encouraged but not compulsory. Those who prefer to relax with a book and enjoy the view are equally welcome.

Breakfasts and simple lunches will usually be prepared aboard, while many evening meals are expected to be enjoyed ashore.

Do I need sailing experience?
No previous sailing experience is required. Each yacht will have an appropriately qualified skipper, although guests are welcome to become involved and learn.

We currently intend to charter two catamarans. The final number will depend on interest, suitable yacht availability and the confirmed booking arrangements.
How long will the holiday last?
The working plan is for a seven-night charter, although this will be confirmed with the final dates.

The cabin price has not yet been confirmed. It will depend on the selected yachts, charter contract, skipper costs and included services.
Is the price per person or per cabin?
We expect the holiday to be offered primarily on a cabin basis, but the final pricing structure will be confirmed before bookings open.
Are flights included?
Guests should currently expect to arrange and pay for their own flights and airport transfers. We may share suggested flight options once the dates are confirmed.
What other costs should I expect?
Guests should expect personal travel costs and a contribution towards shared yacht expenses such as provisions, fuel, marina charges and other consumables. Exact arrangements will be confirmed before deposits are requested.
Is registering interest a booking?
No. Registering interest simply places you on the priority information list. A cabin is secured only through the later booking and deposit process.
Will the itinerary definitely follow the route shown?
No. The destinations shown are examples of the kind of route we are considering. Weather, berthing and operational decisions will determine the final itinerary.
Will we sleep aboard the catamarans?
Yes. Accommodation will be in cabins aboard the yachts, subject to the layouts of the final selected catamarans.
Can non-members register?
You may register your interest even if you are not currently a member. Final eligibility and priority arrangements will be confirmed before bookings open.
